Teaching Fellow / Lecturer – Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

About the role

The University of Strathclyde, Bahrain is seeking a Teaching Fellow / Lecturer to join its Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise student projects, and support the department’s academic and international activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and administer taught modules across all levels of the Mechanical Engineering programmes.
• Supervise undergraduate design and research projects.
• Develop new teaching materials and update existing curricula.
• Participate in academic administration, recruitment, and internationalisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Good honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated depth of knowledge in specialist areas of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
• Teaching experience at university level with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage planning and organisational tasks.

Required skills

• Engineering analysis and design.
• Mathematical and numerical modelling.
• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for design substantiation.
