Assistant Sales Manager - Groups & Events

About the role

Join Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain as an Assistant Sales Manager focused on groups and events. You will support the Director of Sales in driving revenue through corporate, social, association and tour‑and‑travel group business.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing the annual group sales plan to meet room‑night and revenue targets.
• Proactively generate new group accounts via calls, site inspections and industry networking.
• Manage incoming group RFPs, ensuring responses within two hours and high conversion rates.
• Lead hotel site tours and client presentations showcasing meeting spaces, rooms and event capabilities.
• Negotiate and close group contracts, including room blocks, attrition clauses, cut‑off dates and F&B minimums.
• Supervise and mentor junior sales staff, reviewing contracts and lead activity.
• Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Group Resumes to operations teams.
• Act as secondary on‑site escalation point during events, resolving client issues with the Banquet Manager.
• Analyse monthly group performance reports and present findings in revenue strategy meetings.
• Cover the Sales Director’s duties during absences and work flexible evenings/weekends for major arrivals.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years proven experience in sales management with a focus on groups and events.
• Hospitality, resort operations or event coordination background.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Team‑leadership experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
