Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery manufacturing operation of over 700 workers, producing display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing processes, propose mechanisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives across all shop‑floor sections (assembly, milling, veneer, polishing, upholstery, etc.).
• Develop and maintain production schedules, allocate work in coordination with floor supervisors and adjust plans to meet demand.
• Oversee CNC laser and machining operations, ensuring consistent quality and productivity.
• Lead new product development, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Drive housekeeping, health & safety, and best‑practice standards to match European facilities.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, training and development to sustain a skilled workforce.
• Coordinate with Metal, Purchasing, Stores, Logistics and H&S functions to ensure smooth cross‑departmental collaboration.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in a senior management role within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing company.
• Proven ability to lead a workforce of 700+ employees and manage complex production environments.
• Strong technical aptitude with a track record of solving production bottlenecks and implementing capacity‑management strategies.
• Deep knowledge of woodworking, case‑good construction, timber, veneers, adhesives and finishing processes.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous‑improvement programmes.
