Associate Factory Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Factory Manager to lead and develop our joinery manufacturing operations, overseeing a workforce of over 700 employees. The role focuses on enhancing efficiency, driving continuous improvement, and aligning our production standards with leading European facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize existing processes and introduce mechanisation across the production cycle, including joinery shop fittings, assembly, milling, veneer, polishing, and upholstery.
• Monitor daily shop‑floor activities, manage workload distribution, and ensure smooth operation of all sections.
• Develop production schedules, allocate work in coordination with supervisors, and adjust plans as needed.
• Lead new product development, selecting machines, tools, fixtures, and inspection methods.
• Raise manufacturing standards in housekeeping, health & safety, product handling, and planning to European levels.
• Increase capacity efficiently while improving product quality and manufacturing methods.
• Resolve technical challenges, drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, and maintain strong collaboration with metal, purchasing, stores, logistics, and H&S teams.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, development, and training to meet business goals.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in a senior management role within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead a workforce of 700+ employees with strong man‑management skills.
• Excellent technical and execution capabilities, with a solid understanding of capacity management.
• Deep knowledge of woodworking, joinery construction methods, finishing procedures, timber, veneers, adhesives and related materials.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and a track record of implementing continuous‑improvement projects.
