Maintenance Supervisor – Joinery & Metal Fabrication

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance function for a busy joinery workshop and metal‑fabrication plant. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, safety and efficiency by managing a team of technicians, planning preventive maintenance and quickly resolving mechanical, electrical and pneumatic failures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and schedule daily tasks for maintenance technicians and assistants.
• Develop and execute preventive‑maintenance (PM) schedules for all joinery and metal‑working machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment failures.
• Coordinate with external contractors and OEM technicians for specialised servicing.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and order critical components to minimise downtime.
• Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring guards and extraction systems operate correctly.
• Oversee factory infrastructure such as compressed‑air systems, power distribution and dust‑extraction.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years industrial maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role within joinery, furniture manufacturing or metal‑fabrication environments.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical trade certification.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, clear communication and capacity to work under production pressure.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for maintenance planning and inventory control.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with CNC Beam Saws, CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, spindle molders, hot press, Cefla finishing line and central dust‑extraction systems.
• Knowledge of CNC laser cutters, press brakes, MIG/TIG welding machines, sand‑blasting, powder‑coating equipment and compressors.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams and mechanical blueprints.
• Proficiency in preventive‑maintenance planning and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience using ERP software for maintenance management.
