Director of Recreation – Royal Beach Club

About the role

The Director of Recreation leads all indoor and outdoor leisure activities for a luxury resort, overseeing beach, pool, marina, water‑sports and private island operations. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the role ensures exceptional guest experiences and smooth departmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate beach services, pools, marina, water‑sports and private island activities.
• Train and develop the recreation team, conduct weekly KRAs, and lead departmental and hotel meetings.
• Oversee maintenance, liaise with engineering and external contractors, and ensure safety and security across all facilities.
• Implement new company strategies, advise on CAPEX, and continuously improve equipment and service offerings.
• Organise themed parties, tennis, squash, swimming races, biathlons and other member events.
• Lead the Ritz Kids program and enhance overall resort, beachside, island and jogger experiences.
• Drive financial performance of the sports club, including membership management and revenue initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a recreation department.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role with The Ritz‑Carlton or a comparable hotel brand.
• University degree or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant hospitality industry certifications.
