Associate Factory Manager – Joinery Production

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery manufacturing operation of over 700 workers, overseeing display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing processes, propose mechanisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage daily shop‑floor activities across assembly, milling, veneer, polishing, upholstery and other joinery sections.
• Develop production schedules, allocate work with supervisors and adjust plans as needed.
• Oversee CNC laser, machining and other modern equipment to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
• Lead new product development, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Raise housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and planning to European‑level standards.
• Increase capacity efficiently while improving product quality and manufacturing methods.
• Resolve technical bottlenecks, coordinate with metal, purchasing, stores, logistics and H&S functions.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, training and development to meet business goals.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in factory management within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing company.
• Proactive, self‑driven leader with strong man‑management skills capable of supervising 700+ workers.
• Deep technical knowledge of woodworking, joinery construction, finishes, timber, veneers and related adhesives.
• Solid understanding of capacity management and Lean manufacturing principles.
