Business Development Manager – GCC & Bahrain

About the role

TransferMate is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to establish and grow its commercial presence in Bahrain and the wider GCC region. Reporting to APAC leadership, you will own the end‑to‑end market entry process, from building a pipeline to closing strategic deals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead new‑business acquisition across Bahrain and GCC, targeting corporates, fintechs, and strategic partners.
• Design and execute a local go‑to‑market strategy aligned with APAC objectives.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to contract signing.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with banks, fintech firms, ERP platforms, and payroll providers.
• Maintain a high‑quality pipeline and deliver against ambitious revenue targets.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure market fit.
• Provide market intelligence to shape TransferMate’s GCC expansion strategy.
• Act as the Principal Representative and “approved person” for the Central Bank of Bahrain, overseeing the representative office.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of business development or sales experience in fintech, payments, FX, or SaaS.
• Proven record of closing new business and exceeding revenue targets.
• Experience building or scaling a new market, region, or territory.
• Strong partnership development and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment.
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
