Commis 1 – Mediterranean & Western Cuisine

About the role

The Commis 1 will support the kitchen team at Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain, preparing Mediterranean and Western dishes. This position is ideal for an aspiring chef who wants to develop skills in a 5‑star hotel environment while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, mise en place and basic cooking as instructed.
• Follow standard recipes, portion controls and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
• Adhere to HACCP, food safety, hygiene and proper food storage procedures.
• Support the kitchen during restaurant, banquet, buffet and other service periods.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage and FIFO of food products and minimize waste.

Required profile

• Culinary qualification or training preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a 5‑star hotel.
• Good teamwork, willingness to learn and ability to work under pressure.
