Duty Engineer – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Duty Engineer will support the engineering team of Mantis’s hotel portfolio, ensuring that all maintenance, repair and construction activities are carried out safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in maintaining the operational standards of our eco‑focused properties.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily briefings with the Assistant Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering and the engineering workshop team.
• Plan, assign, supervise and inspect preventive and corrective maintenance, repair and construction tasks.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly maintenance reports and review work orders before and after completion.
• Distribute work orders, monitor progress, and coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment, provide technical assistance to technicians, and perform emergency repairs.
• Manage manpower allocation and respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and report major issues immediately.
• Participate in training sessions to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience in hotel or hospitality engineering maintenance.
• Ability to coordinate work orders and supervise technical staff.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
• Willingness to attend regular briefings and training sessions.
