Environmental Engineer – Sustainability & Compliance

About the role

The Environmental Engineer will implement technical solutions and programs that advance Bapco Energies’ sustainability objectives on the ground. Combining engineering expertise with environmental management, the role reduces environmental impact, ensures regulatory compliance, and translates high‑level sustainability goals into measurable actions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine environmental monitoring and site inspections for air, water, soil and related indicators.
• Lead sampling campaigns, waste audits and other field activities across facilities.
• Analyze monitoring data, identify trends or non‑compliance, and trigger corrective actions.
• Support environmental permitting by preparing technical data for emissions, effluent and waste applications.
• Participate in internal and external audits, provide evidence of compliance and implement corrective measures.
• Assist with Environmental Impact Assessments and develop project‑specific Environmental Management Plans.
• Perform baseline studies, risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures for biodiversity, land, air and water.
• Lead soil and groundwater protection activities, including containment design, monitoring and remediation guidance.
• Coordinate biodiversity assessments and contribute to the Biodiversity Action Plan.
• Drive pollution prevention, resource efficiency and circularity projects, including waste reduction, recycling, emissions reduction and water conservation initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in environmental monitoring, compliance and impact assessment.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities and preparing permitting documentation.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and lead field‑based projects.
