Head of Legal

About the role

The Head of Legal leads the legal function for the Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate governance across multiple jurisdictions. This senior position provides strategic legal counsel to the Board, executive team, and subsidiary managers while managing legal risk and supporting major commercial initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Group’s legal strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Serve as principal legal advisor to the Board, executive management, and subsidiary leadership.
• Advise on corporate governance, board and committee matters, and ensure compliance with corporate laws in each jurisdiction.
• Draft, review, negotiate and approve a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor, partnership, joint‑venture, licensing and employment agreements.
• Monitor regulatory developments, support licensing applications and work closely with compliance, risk, HR, finance and company secretarial teams.
• Manage litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Lead legal due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, investments and complex cross‑border transactions.
• Provide employment law guidance to HR and handle related documentation and disputes.

Required profile

• 12–15 years of post‑qualification legal experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior legal leadership role.
• Experience within a diversified corporate group, financial services, banking, investment or multinational organization.
• Strong background in cross‑border legal matters, corporate transactions and regulator engagement.
