Health and Safety Officer

About the role

Amana Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to lead occupational health and safety initiatives for its new facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain. The role focuses on creating a safe work environment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, or near‑misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Bahrain Labour Law, NHRA, OSHA, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
• Deliver health and safety training and induction programs to staff and contractors.
• Maintain records of safety‑related incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, safety consultants, and emergency services as required.
• Prepare reports and documentation for audits, inspections, and management review.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness at all organizational levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
• NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory).
• 4–6 years of relevant health and safety experience.
• Knowledge of Bahraini health and safety laws and regulations.
• Additional certifications such as ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, OSHA, or First Aid are advantageous.
