Indirect Tax Consultant

About the role

EY is seeking a Consultant to join its Indirect Tax team in Manama. You will advise clients on VAT treatment of complex transactions, support dispute resolution with tax authorities, and contribute to cross‑border tax projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a worldwide network of VAT professionals to deliver tax advice across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prepare reports, schedules and client presentations, and support meetings with senior management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with client personnel and internal practice teams.
• Apply customs law, regional Free Trade Agreements, and key customs concepts such as valuation, classification and origin.
• Identify VAT considerations for outbound investments and assist clients in preparing for potential VAT introductions.
• Provide indirect tax expertise for audit and transaction projects.

Required profile

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Client‑focused, commercially aware and able to build relationships at all levels.
• Strong project‑management abilities, capable of planning, prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risk and propose practical solutions.
