Placement Officer – Consumer Insurance

About the role

The Placement Officer for Consumer Lines manages the end‑to‑end placement of retail insurance products such as motor, home, travel and other consumer lines. Acting as the bridge between telesales, insurers and internal operations, the role ensures accurate, timely issuance and renewal of policies while maintaining compliance with underwriting and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify lead submissions from telesales, obtain and compare quotations from approved insurers, and negotiate terms to secure optimal coverage.
• Confirm placements, prepare cover confirmations and ensure policy documents are issued correctly and on schedule.
• Process all policy transactions (new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations) in the broker management system, reviewing schedules and certificates for accuracy.
• Coordinate with insurers to resolve discrepancies, maintain up‑to‑date records, and support compliance with data protection regulations.
• Manage renewal cycles, obtain quotations 45 days before expiry, compare terms, and track renewals to avoid coverage lapses.
• Maintain strong relationships with insurer underwriting and operations teams, monitor response times and performance metrics, and provide market feedback for product development.
• Ensure placements follow company policies, support internal audits, and suggest workflow improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business or a related field.
• Experience in insurance placement, policy administration or a similar commercial role.
• Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements and insurance product lines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using ERP platforms.
