Principal Transport Planner (Bahrain)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Transport Planner to lead transport planning services for projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to shape the future of transportation in a rapidly developing region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate small to mid‑size project teams, overseeing transport planning tasks and deliverables.
• Conduct comprehensive transport studies, providing expert guidance in traffic engineering, smart cities and transport modelling.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges.
• Manage project deliverables, task allocation, presentations and reports to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
• Engage with clients as the primary point of contact for projects and proposals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor and manage team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the transport planning department and stay abreast of industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning or a related field (required).
• Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning (preferred).
• Membership in a professional institution such as CIHT, ICE or TPS; eligibility for chartership or professional licence (e.g., P.E., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner) is preferred.
