Section Manager - Bakery

About the role

The Section Manager – Bakery leads the bakery department within a hypermarket, ensuring product quality, freshness and an attractive assortment to meet sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor competitor activities such as pricing, range and promotions and report findings.
• Negotiate internal promotions with suppliers to reinforce discount positioning.
• Maintain a competitive product assortment and stay informed about market trends in the store’s catchment area.
• Implement the store’s commercial pricing policy.
• Safeguard the department’s assets, ensuring proper conservation, utilization and profitability.
• Oversee product assortment and conduct comparative studies to improve commercial concepts.

Required profile

• Diploma in Commerce or Finance.
• At least 2 years of retail experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or operations role.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Customer‑service orientation and effective time‑management.
