Arabic and Farsi Linguist CAT II – NAVCENT

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Arabic and Persian‑Farsi linguist (CAT II) to support U.S. Army operations in Bahrain. The linguist will act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing cultural insight and language support for senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations, including interpretation during interviews, meetings and conferences.
• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
• Scan, research and analyze foreign‑language documents to extract key information.
• Work shifts and extended hours to support 24/7 operations, including deployments aboard Navy vessels.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with a valid U.S. passport.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one prior to deployment.
• Willingness to work in Bahrain and on Navy vessels for periods of up to several weeks.
• Ability to work shifts, extended hours and adapt to local culture and customs.
• Pass medical examination and meet Army MOD15 requirements.

Required skills

• ILR Level 3 proficiency in Arabic and Persian‑Farsi (target languages).
• ILR Level 2+ proficiency in spoken English and Level 2+ reading comprehension.
