Arabic & Farsi Linguist (CAT II) for US Army Operations

About the role

The Arabic and Farsi Linguist (CAT II) will support U.S. Army operations in Bahrain, providing expert cultural and linguistic insight to senior leadership. This position involves interpreting, transcribing, and analyzing communications in both target languages.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational linguist support for military missions, including interpretation during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications in Arabic and Persian‑Farsi.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign‑language documents to extract key information.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with a valid U.S. passport.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one before deployment.
• Willingness to work in Bahrain and aboard Navy vessels for extended periods.
• Ability to work shifts and extended hours to support 24/7 operations.
• Medical examination and compliance with Army MOD15 requirements.

Required skills

• ILR Level 3 proficiency in Arabic and Persian‑Farsi (target languages).
• ILR Level 2+ proficiency in spoken English and Level 2+ reading comprehension.
