Assistant Manager – Data Privacy & Protection Specialist

About the role

Join KPMG as an Assistant Manager specializing in Data Privacy & Protection. You will help safeguard client data, navigate evolving regulations, and build trusted digital environments across a range of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data privacy compliance initiatives to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
• Conduct privacy audits and assessments to identify gaps and enhance control environments.
• Guide and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high‑risk processing activities.
• Act as a liaison with regulators and data protection authorities, managing communications and inquiries.
• Build robust privacy frameworks, policies, and governance structures.
• Provide insights on emerging risks to enable proactive and sustainable compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of experience in IT audit, data compliance, cybersecurity or information security.
• Strong understanding of data‑privacy regulations and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Proven ability to work across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders and regulators.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Data Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Cyber/Information Security or equivalent.
• Relevant certification(s) such as CIPP, CIPM, CISSP or CISA.

Required skills

• Knowledge of data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Experience conducting privacy audits and DPIAs.
• Ability to design and implement privacy policies, frameworks and governance structures.
