Category Management Assistant / Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Category Management Assistant / Specialist to support our construction projects. The role will provide analytical and operational support across the full category management lifecycle, from market analysis to procurement and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing category management strategies, procedures, and governance frameworks aligned with project objectives.
• Support market analysis, category planning, sourcing, supplier selection, contract execution, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, procurement, legal, finance, design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Review and analyse supplier contracts, purchase orders, pricing schedules, product specifications and service agreements.
• Maintain category administration procedures covering planning, sourcing, tendering, purchasing, approvals, performance monitoring and contract compliance.
• Monitor supplier and contractor compliance with contractual obligations, pricing, delivery schedules, quality and service levels.
• Assist in managing performance issues, price changes, supply constraints, substitutions, shortages and delivery delays.
• Analyse procurement spend, demand forecasts and inventory requirements to support cost control.

Required profile

• Mid‑level to senior professional with experience in category management, procurement or supply chain within construction or related industries.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
