Commercial Assistant / Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Assistant / Specialist to provide comprehensive contract administration and commercial support across our construction projects. The role involves managing contracts from tender through to final account settlement, ensuring compliance and protecting project value.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of contract management strategies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Assist in managing contracts through tendering, award, execution, variations, claims, and final settlement.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, procurement, legal, finance and external contractors.
• Review, interpret and negotiate construction contracts, sub‑contracts, purchase orders and consultancy agreements.
• Maintain contract administration records, including notices, approvals, payment certifications, variations and extensions of time.
• Monitor contractor and consultant compliance with contractual obligations, milestones, warranties and insurance requirements.
• Support the preparation and review of payment applications, valuations, interim certificates and final accounts.

Required profile

• Mid‑level to senior experience in commercial management within the construction industry.
• Proven track record in contract administration, claims handling and cost control.
• Strong understanding of construction contract forms and legal frameworks.

Required skills

• Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, JCT and ICE contract forms.
• Experience with EPC and design‑and‑build contracting models.
• Ability to manage variations, change orders and compensation events.
