Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead the pre‑opening and launch financial operations for Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort and Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort, establishing robust financial controls and reporting structures from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all pre‑opening financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, system setup and internal controls.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures and SOPs in line with brand standards and local regulations.
• Prepare and manage pre‑opening budgets, opening balance sheets and capital expenditure tracking.
• Oversee accounting, finance, procurement, cost control and payroll functions for both properties.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statements, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Partner with department heads to provide financial guidance, cost‑control measures and performance analysis.
• Maintain full compliance with statutory requirements, audits, tax regulations and brand financial policies.
• Support the Hotel Manager and owners with strategic financial insights, cash‑flow management and decision‑making.
• Build and lead the finance team during the pre‑opening phase, including recruitment, training and development.
• Implement strong controls to safeguard assets, cash handling, inventory and purchasing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; ACCA, CMA or similar certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior finance or accounting role, or 2 years in a comparable pre‑opening finance capacity.
• High degree of professionalism with strong business acumen.
• Full knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulation standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems.
