Facility Assistant – Ammonia Plant Technician

About the role

The Facility Assistant will be responsible for analysing and executing repairs and maintenance on an ammonia production plant. Working within the DSV team, the role demands high standards of performance, safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on rotary screw compressors, condensers, evaporators, boilers, pumps, valves, fans, piping, mechanical drives, electric motors, industrial control systems, HVAC systems, dock equipment and general facility assets.
• Respond promptly to releases of anhydrous ammonia and carry out remediation procedures.
• Maintain proactive equipment monitoring to maximise efficiency and production run‑time.
• Read service manuals, interpret electrical drawings and execute fault‑finding procedures.
• Follow manufacturer instructions within specified repair times and ensure cost‑effective use of materials.
• Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to secure parts and report discrepancies.
• Perform non‑technical assignments as directed by maintenance management.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 8‑10 years of hands‑on experience in an ammonia plant or similar industrial environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and fluent in English.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, attention to detail and physical stamina for demanding tasks.
