Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will develop, implement and monitor occupational health and safety systems across our production facilities in Bahrain. The role ensures compliance with local legislation, reduces workplace risks and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and manuals.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Manage the Health & Safety team and coordinate safety training for staff.
• Liaise with government authorities and ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are met.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, conduct audits and monitor compliance with OHS standards.
• Oversee safe installation of equipment and machinery, and control hazardous substances.
• Prepare documentation for quality systems and support off‑site safety activities.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with ≥3 years HSE experience or expatriates with ≥6 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health & safety management qualification.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of Bahrain HSE regulations.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, safety management software).
