Junior Sommelier

About the role

The Junior Sommelier will join a luxury hospitality venue in Manama, supporting the wine program and enhancing the overall dining experience. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with the food and beverage team to deliver seamless wine service and thoughtful pairings for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing and updating the wine list, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Recommend appropriate wine pairings to guests based on menu selections and personal preferences.
• Collaborate with chefs and service staff to create harmonious food‑and‑wine combinations.
• Handle wine service, storage, and inventory control, maintaining optimal conditions and stock levels.
• Support wine sales through knowledgeable, guest‑focused recommendations.
• Stay current on global wine trends and participate in staff training sessions.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in sommelier practices and a passion for wine.
• Basic knowledge of international wine regions, varietals, and emerging trends.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a hospitality environment.
• Attention to detail, customer‑focused mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or luxury hospitality venue is an advantage.
