Mechanical Technician – Instrument Commissioning

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Mechanical Technician to lead instrument commissioning and startup activities within its Project Management (Technical Services) department. The role ensures that all mechanical and instrumentation systems transition smoothly from construction to operational status while meeting safety, quality, and project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute pre‑commissioning and commissioning tasks according to approved procedures.
• Maintain strict compliance with HSE standards throughout all activities.
• Coordinate with construction, operations, and maintenance teams to guarantee seamless handover.
• Troubleshoot and resolve instrument‑related issues during startup phases.
• Document all commissioning activities accurately and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Support system integration and functional testing activities.
• Report progress, identify risks, and communicate them promptly to the Lead – Technical Services.
• Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality benchmarks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7–8 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems and instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting equipment and mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
