Procurement Officer

About the role

Amana Healthcare is launching its first hospital in Al Jasra, Bahrain, and seeks a Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services essential for its long-term care and rehabilitation operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and process purchase requisitions from internal departments.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, delivery terms and service levels.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
• Maintain and update an approved vendor list, monitor supplier performance and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls and relevant regulations, maintaining accurate records of contracts, orders and invoices.
• Collaborate with finance for payment processing and with warehouse teams to monitor stock levels, avoiding over- or under-purchasing.
• Support budgeting and cost-saving initiatives by analysing market trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply-chain roles.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of local procurement laws and regulations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP or procurement software such as SAP, Oracle or Zoho.
