Retail Project Manager - Joinery & Fit-Out

About the role

Havelock One is looking for a Retail Project Manager who has spent the last 8 years working with reputable joinery manufacturing companies and the interiors industry, managing customs and retail installation projects. The role is for a self-driven, responsible leader who can launch and run multiple projects of different sizes from award to handover, and who communicates clearly in spoken and written English.

Key responsibilities

• Set up project kick-off meetings with internal departments and the fit-out team, coordinating with the general contractor where needed to align scope, timeline and expectations.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and measurements, photograph sites, identify loading zones and give feedback to the Setting Out Manager on dimensions and site conditions.
• Carry out setting out and marking of joinery equipment on site if needed, and answer technical queries from clients and contractors during the manufacturing and installation phases.
• Plan the project schedule, preferably using MS Projects, and generate daily and weekly site progress reports with photos.
• Manage several projects at once, prioritising tasks independently and proactively taking initiative on ongoing work.
• Keep fit-out teams, factory personnel and clients informed daily, relay discrepancies to the line manager, and report adjustments needed to the setting out team.
• Communicate confidently with clients, negotiate their demands and handle high-pressure situations calmly.
• Travel to countries in the MENA region and beyond, adapting to flexible hours including weekends as site needs require.

Required profile

• At least five to eight years of experience in a joinery manufacturing company, including hospitality and entertainment projects.
• Natural leader and team player who brings measurable improvements in output and efficiency.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, good planning ability and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Word and MS Projects.
• Verbal and written English.
• Sound knowledge of fabrication procedures and joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware, fabrics, glass, stone and lighting.
