Senior Electrical Estimator

About the role

The Senior Electrical Estimator will lead the preparation of accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates for electrical works across a variety of construction projects, including commercial, industrial, infrastructure, high‑rise, and mixed‑use developments. You will provide expert technical and commercial input throughout the tendering process, ensuring submissions meet client requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and scopes of work to define project requirements.
• Identify technical, commercial, contractual and execution risks and raise clarifications where needed.
• Prepare detailed electrical quantity take‑offs covering materials, labour, equipment, subcontract works, testing and commissioning.
• Develop accurate cost estimates based on construction methodology, market conditions and historical data.
• Calculate direct and indirect costs, including manpower, plant, temporary works, preliminaries and overheads.
• Review electrical designs for compliance, constructability and cost effectiveness.
• Obtain, evaluate and negotiate quotations from suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and propose alternative solutions to optimise costs.
• Monitor market trends, material prices and labour rates that may impact estimates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical cost estimating within the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, EWA, EDD and local authority regulations.
• Ability to analyse tender documents and assess risks and opportunities.
• Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and numerical abilities.
