Student Success Advisor

About the role

The Student Success Advisor supports at‑risk students at American University of Bahrain, helping them stay on track academically and personally. The role focuses on early identification of concerns, providing guidance, and linking students to university support services.

Key responsibilities

• Advise students on course selection, registration, workload and progression requirements.
• Monitor attendance and academic performance, following up proactively with students showing concerning patterns.
• Identify students needing additional academic, personal or wellbeing support and coordinate referrals to advisors, counselors or other services.
• Maintain confidential records of interventions, referrals and outcomes.
• Assist with student grievance and appeal processing and contribute to retention and early‑intervention strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Psychology or Education.
• At least three years of professional experience in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build trust with students facing challenges.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases and adhere to deadlines.
