Switchgear Engineer – Power & GIS Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Switchgear Engineer to join our team in Bahrain. The role focuses on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high‑voltage GIS and metal‑clad switchgear for a leading petroleum and power organization.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot 220 kV and 66 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS).
• Install, test and commission GIS units, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
• Maintain 33 kV/21 kV/11 kV metal‑clad switchgear, including circuit breakers and busbars.
• Interpret electrical drawings and schematics for installation and maintenance activities.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams, supervising field crews and coordinating with OEM partners.
• Provide technical decision‑making and leadership on site.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in GIS installation, testing and commissioning.
• Hands‑on experience with 220 kV, 66 kV GIS and 33/21/11 kV metal‑clad switchgear.
• Previous work with OEMs or OEM channel partners.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary projects and lead on‑site teams.
