Technical Services Engineer - Powerplant

About the role

DHL Express is looking for a Technical Services Engineer for its Powerplant team. The role assists the Technical Services Manager - Powerplant so that DHL has comprehensive continued airworthiness support for aircraft powerplants. It covers engineering assistance to aircraft production, material management and technical support for engine and APU maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Technical Services Manager - Powerplant to ensure continued airworthiness support for aircraft powerplants.
• Provide engineering assistance to aircraft production by troubleshooting system defects and liaising with aircraft and engine manufacturers.
• Assess technical documentation received from airworthiness authorities, manufacturers or vendors.
• Manage material movement for engines and APUs, including forecasting consumption, sourcing, pre-purchase approval and post-purchase technical review, and keeping the TRAX management system up to date.
• Evaluate new aircraft for airworthiness compliance and identify required powerplant/APU modifications.
• Research powerplant/APU data to support service bulletin assessment and evaluate engineering requirements for overhaul and repair.
• Manage the engine shop visit process, from work scope creation to invoice and paperwork review, and carry out table-top inspections at off-wing maintenance providers.
• Review vendor options, pre-approve purchases, and manage Life Limited Parts (LLP) back-to-birth trace folders and soft-life management for LRU components.
• Support line maintenance by liaising with OEMs and manufacturers, and provide technical advice to Maintenance, Quality, Stores and Flight Operations.
• Own the Engine/APU Health Monitoring Program, compile trend reports and recommend maintenance actions, and monitor engine life limits and ADs.
• Assess service bulletins, fleet digest notifications and airworthiness directives, and evaluate engines for procurement and preservation of spares.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Technical Services Powerplant Engineering.
• Graduate or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (EASA / FAA / ICAO Type II).
• GE CF6-80C2 CAMO technical experience is a distinct advantage.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Trax or AMOS maintenance systems, or similar, is an advantage.
• Engine health monitoring software (e.g. General Electric) and flight data monitoring are advantages.
• Experience with LLP/APU BTB trace packages is an advantage.
