Transaction Monitoring Technical Lead

About the role

Join a leading banking organisation as the technical lead for its Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Assessment platforms. You will drive enhancements that improve detection quality, reduce false positives, and ensure compliance with evolving AML, CTF, and KYC regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise detection scenarios, risk scoring models, thresholds and overall system performance.
• Develop, tune and test transaction monitoring rules and customer risk models.
• Analyse false positives and implement improvements while maintaining detection effectiveness.
• Integrate the platform with transaction data feeds, customer databases, regulatory sources, case‑management and reporting tools.
• Use analytics, statistical techniques and machine learning to enhance anomaly detection.
• Produce performance reports, maintain audit trails and documentation.
• Act as the technical SME during audits, regulatory inspections and internal reviews.
• Lead technology teams and drive continuous improvement across the financial‑crime technology capability.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience managing AML/CTF technology in an international banking or regulated financial‑services environment.
• 6+ years of experience designing, implementing or optimising transaction monitoring solutions.
• Strong understanding of AML, CTF, KYC and related regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to translate regulatory needs into technical solutions.
