Farsi Linguist (CAT II) – Translation & Interpretation

About the role

Valiant is seeking a skilled Farsi Linguist (CAT II) to provide high‑quality translation, transcription, and interpretation services in support of U.S. operations. The role involves working in austere environments and delivering culturally accurate language support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation from Farsi to English.
• Translate colloquial, slang, and formal expressions between English and Farsi.
• Travel and operate in austere field locations as required.
• Advise on cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, and documents.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign‑language documents.
• Execute other related language tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Native‑level proficiency in Farsi and English (ILR Level 3/3).
• Extensive knowledge of Farsi culture and prior regional experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Medical, dental, and immunization clearance for deployment.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb, work in extreme temperatures, sand, dust, and rain.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Farsi language proficiency (ILR Level 3).
• English language proficiency (ILR Level 3).
• Experience in Farsi‑English translation and interpretation.
