Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance function for a joinery workshop and metal‑fabrication facility, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety and production efficiency. You will manage a team of technicians, drive preventive‑maintenance programmes and resolve mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and schedule daily tasks for maintenance technicians and assistants.
• Develop and execute preventive‑maintenance (PM) schedules for all joinery and metal‑working machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic failures.
• Coordinate with external contractors and OEM technicians for specialised service.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and order critical components to minimise downtime.
• Enforce health‑and‑safety protocols, ensuring guards and extraction systems are functional.
• Oversee factory infrastructure such as compressed‑air systems, power distribution and dust‑extraction networks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role within joinery, furniture manufacturing or metal‑fabrication.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical trade certification.
• Proven ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams and mechanical blueprints.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and pressure‑handling skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.

Required skills

• Maintenance of CNC Beam Saws, CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, spindle molders, hot press, Cefla finishing line and dust‑extraction systems.
• Maintenance of CNC laser cutters, press brakes, MIG/TIG welding machines, sand‑blasting equipment, powder‑coating units and compressors.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams and mechanical blueprints.
• Preventive‑maintenance planning and spare‑parts inventory control.
