Strength & Conditioning Coach (75-100%)

About the role

The World Aquatics Training Centre in Bahrain is expanding its swimming and diving scholarship programme and seeks a qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach. Working under the Head Coach and alongside the Scholarship Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the physical preparation, injury prevention and performance optimisation of scholarship athletes in a high-performance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver daily sport-specific strength, conditioning, mobility and physical preparation sessions for swimmers and divers.
• Implement load-management and monitoring systems to optimise adaptation and minimise injury risk.
• Collaborate with medical, physiotherapy and sports-science staff on injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-performance plans.
• Monitor athlete fatigue, readiness and development using testing and tracking tools, and maintain performance data.
• Support training camps, competitions and travel periods to ensure athletes remain physically prepared.
• Contribute to the Annual Performance Plan, interdisciplinary planning and internal reporting.
• Maintain accurate training records, performance logs and assist with programme evaluations.

Required profile

• Degree in Strength & Conditioning, Sport Science, Exercise Physiology or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering strength and conditioning programmes for elite swimmers or divers.
• Strong understanding of load management, injury prevention and performance monitoring in aquatic sports.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, high-performance team.
