AI Specialist

About the role

The AI Specialist supports the identification, evaluation and implementation of practical AI solutions across the business. Working with business teams, IT and external partners, the role explores AI opportunities, assesses available tools and models, supports pilot initiatives and promotes the responsible use of AI. Coding knowledge is useful for prototyping but is not the main focus.

Key responsibilities

• Research and recommend practical AI solutions that improve productivity, quality, efficiency or decision-making, and turn business challenges into clear AI use cases.
• Support the development, testing and evaluation of small AI pilots and proofs of concept, comparing solutions on usability, accuracy, security, integration, cost and business value.
• Help configure and implement approved AI solutions, and prepare documentation, user guides, presentations and progress updates.
• Support AI awareness sessions, demonstrations and knowledge sharing, and encourage adoption of approved tools.
• Help departments identify AI opportunities, evaluate and prioritise use cases, gather user feedback and document lessons learned.
• Track pilot activities, timelines, risks and decisions, and coordinate with internal teams, business owners, vendors and external specialists.
• Follow company requirements for security, privacy, data protection and responsible AI use, and keep up to date with AI developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering or a related field.
• Approximately three years of relevant experience in technology, AI, automation, software or digital solutions; experience supporting pilots or cross-functional projects is preferred.
• Strong interest in AI, good analytical, problem-solving and experimentation skills, and good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot Studio, Power Platform or similar.
• Preferred: Microsoft 365 (Copilot, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, Teams, Power BI), basic Python, SQL, APIs, JavaScript, C# or another language, and understanding of large language models, prompting and AI agents.
• Experience building simple prototypes or automations is an advantage; exposure to Azure or advanced ML libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is also an advantage.
