Arabic Social Studies Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat, 6 October is looking for an Arabic Social Studies teacher to deliver the SABIS curriculum to secondary students. The successful candidate will plan, teach, and assess lessons while promoting a positive and disciplined classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Arabic Social Studies using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on pacing charts.
• Mark exams and assignments according to departmental schedules.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System to maintain an effective learning atmosphere.
• Proctor examinations and ensure a secure testing environment.
• Provide guidance and motivation to low‑performing students.
• Assist with external exam preparation and revision schedules.
• Perform additional duties such as substitute teaching, organizing lunches and transport, and other administrative tasks.
• Participate in student life activities and coordinate with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions to enhance understanding of the SABIS system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in English.
• Minimum of 1 year teaching experience.
• Professional behavior and ethical conduct.
