Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery manufacturing operation of over 700 workers, delivering display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance existing processes, propose mechanisation and optimise machining cycles (CNC, laser, milling).
• Oversee the full production cycle, create schedules, allocate work with shop‑floor supervisors and adjust plans as needed.
• Lead new product development, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Drive continuous improvement, resolve technical bottlenecks and implement Lean manufacturing techniques.
• Coordinate with Metal, Purchasing, Stores, Logistics and H&S functions to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage staff selection, performance, training and development to maintain a skilled workforce.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in a senior factory management role within a large furniture or joinery company.
• Strong technical and execution capabilities with deep knowledge of woodworking, case‑goods construction, finishes, timber, veneers and related machinery.
• Proven ability to implement Lean manufacturing and capacity‑management strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a multinational environment.
• Familiarity with planning, resource allocation and architectural joinery manufacturing processes.
