Associate Factory Manager – Joinery Production

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will support the leadership of a large joinery manufacturing operation employing over 700 workers. The role is responsible for driving efficiency, introducing mechanisation, and aligning production standards with European best practices across display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance existing processes, propose improvements and mechanisation throughout the production cycle.
• Oversee daily shop‑floor activities, monitor workload across sections such as assembly, milling, veneer, polishing and upholstery.
• Develop and adjust production schedules in liaison with supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Lead new product development planning, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Raise the plant’s standards in housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and overall organisation.
• Increase capacity and product quality while maintaining competitive efficiency.
• Coordinate with metal, purchasing, stores, logistics and H&S functions to maintain seamless operations.
• Manage staff selection, performance, development and training to build a competent workforce.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in a factory management role within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing company.
• Proactive, self‑driven personality with strong people‑management skills.
• Deep technical understanding of joinery construction, finishing methods, timber, veneers and related raw materials.
• Proven ability to solve technical problems, manage capacity and drive continuous improvement.
