Business Development Officer

About the role

Malaeb is a sports tech startup that makes it easy to book sports activities and helps business owners run their sports operations smoothly. The Business Development Officer generates new business, manages the full sales cycle and builds lasting client relationships. The role covers market research, revenue targets, upselling, collaboration with marketing and product teams, and timely client support.

Key responsibilities

• Identify potential clients, conduct market research and build relationships with prospects and existing clients
• Present and demonstrate Malaeb's offerings and manage the sales process from first contact to contract negotiation, closure and onboarding
• Achieve individual and team revenue targets and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
• Stay informed on industry trends and competitors, and give recommendations based on market intelligence
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams, and prepare regular sales reports and data analysis
• Gather customer feedback, handle customer inquiries promptly and take on other tasks asked by the Line Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
• 2 to 3 years of experience in business development, sales or a related field
• Knowledge of the sports tech industry and enthusiasm for promoting a healthy lifestyle
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills; goal-oriented and able to work with marketing, product and operations teams
