Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

Amana Healthcare, part of M42, is opening its first Bahrain facility in Al Jasra. The Clinical Pharmacist will deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services within a world‑class hospital, ensuring safe, effective and cost‑efficient medication use for patients receiving long‑term and post‑acute care.

Key responsibilities

• Review and optimise medication therapy, assessing prescriptions for dosage, interactions, contraindications and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical rounds, providing evidence‑based medication recommendations to physicians and the care team.
• Monitor patient responses, adjust therapy as needed, and conduct medication reconciliation at admission, transfer and discharge.
• Support medication safety programmes, including adverse‑drug‑reaction monitoring, error reporting and risk mitigation.
• Develop and implement clinical pharmacy protocols, formulary management activities and contribute to quality‑improvement projects, audits and research.
• Provide education and training to staff, interns and students on medication‑related topics.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
• Current NHRA Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure.
• 3–5 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy and medication safety.
• Proficiency in clinical pharmacy practices and medication management.
