Commercial Manager

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the finance and commercial functions of Agroshipping LLC, ensuring robust financial control, effective budgeting, and seamless coordination with sales and procurement teams. This role reports directly to senior management and supports the company’s growth objectives across shipping and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee finance department operations, set goals and objectives.
• Administer and supervise financial operations, cash‑flow management and internal control systems.
• Prepare and verify MIS reports, monitor and forecast the company’s financial status.
• Manage budgeting, credit control, business development and finance management.
• Liaise with bankers, lawyers and auditors.
• Supervise product costing, tendering and coordinate with QA/QC for tender requirements.
• Ensure VAT accounting and returns are filed in compliance with legal requirements.
• Support the sales team, attend sales meetings and guide commercial activities.
• Oversee purchase department, verify purchase requests and approve supplier payments.
• Implement cost‑control and cost‑reduction measures.
• Monitor transportation department to ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with insurance companies for accident claims.
• Ensure all departments implement Sage software.
• Supervise stock inventory, monthly financial statements and year‑end audit schedules.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Proven experience overseeing finance and commercial operations.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash‑flow management and internal controls.
• Ability to liaise effectively with banks, legal advisors and auditors.
• Experience in procurement, product costing and tender management.
• Familiarity with VAT regulations and compliance.
• Leadership skills to guide sales and purchase teams.
