Compliance Oversight Testing Officer

About the role

The Group Compliance Department at Arab Banking Corporation is seeking a Compliance Oversight Testing Officer to lead and manage the execution of the Group Compliance Oversight Testing Plan. The role focuses on assessing the effectiveness of AML and regulatory controls across the bank’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct oversight testing of key AML and regulatory compliance functions.
• Maintain testing schedules and communication plans with stakeholders.
• Validate test results, ensure alignment with Group methodology, and produce formal reports.
• Provide guidance on Group standards, best practices, and follow‑up on identified issues.
• Perform trend analysis on testing results for internal reporting.
• Support MLROs with subject‑matter expertise and assist in developing the annual testing plan.
• Collaborate with Operational Risk, Internal Audit, and the Risk Assessment Team to avoid overlap and validate risk ratings.
• Lead or assist investigations of compliance breaches and contribute to ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of experience in financial services, preferably in monitoring, testing, operational risk or internal audit.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree; professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA or CIA are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain AML/CFT laws and international AML/CFT regulations.
• Experience overseeing projects across multiple jurisdictions.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
