Controller - Database Administration

About the role

The Controller - Database Administration ensures the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of the organization’s database environment. You will be responsible for performance optimisation, data protection, and supporting critical SAP systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain databases to guarantee optimal performance and data integrity.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks and apply tuning measures.
• Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
• Plan and carry out database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Implement security controls, manage user permissions and enforce encryption.
• Provide SAP BASIS administration, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, corruption or connectivity issues.
• Create and maintain disaster‑recovery plans for database systems.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators and stakeholders to align database solutions with business needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in database administration.
• Professional certification in Oracle, SAP or Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
• Proven track record of delivering complex database projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
