Design & Technical Manager – FF&E and Joinery

About the role

Havelock One Interiors is seeking an experienced Design & Technical Manager to lead the FF&E and joinery function for bespoke and hospitality projects in Bahrain. The role sits within the setting‑out department and acts as the central hub for coordinating internal teams and external clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee assigned projects from concept through manufacturing, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Guide the setting‑out team on execution strategy, material submissions, procurement, shop drawings, prototyping and delivery.
• Manage client expectations by reviewing shop drawings, addressing variations and maintaining clear communication.
• Control material details, obtain clearances for changes and supervise procurement processes.
• Interpret project specifications, identify material requirements and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Continuously improve processes, identify efficiency initiatives and support their implementation.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in a manufacturing or interior‑fit‑out environment.
• Relevant qualification in interiors, technical design or a related discipline.
• Proven expertise in joinery setting‑out, detailing, planning, shop drawings, cutting lists and material take‑offs.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for integrating diverse materials such as glass, acrylic, stone, metal and fabric.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk products (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of joinery and interior materials: timber, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware, special surfaces, transitions, glass, acrylics, stone, metals, fabrics.
