Electrical Fitter – Repair of Rotating Machinery

About the role

Sulzer is seeking an Electrical Fitter to repair and maintain LV & HV electrical rotating machinery and associated equipment. The role involves working in a workshop environment while adhering to Sulzer's QESH safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Repair LV and HV electrical rotating machinery.
• Assemble and disassemble electrical rotating equipment.
• Conduct static and dynamic tests on electrical equipment.
• Rewind electric motors and generators (desirable).
• Perform motor balancing (desirable).
• Carry out EX (explosive atmosphere) work when required (desirable).
• Order goods and supplies as needed.
• Follow supervisor directions to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Travel to onsite locations for repairs, sometimes on short notice.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and safety standards.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or higher (or equivalent).
• Valid state electrical licence/permit.
• Experience repairing and rewinding DC, medium‑to‑high voltage motors and generators.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Good time‑management and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safe working practices.
• Proficiency in English.
