External Audit Engagement Lead

About the role

An established accounting and auditing firm is looking for an External Audit Engagement Lead to head assurance teams, manage a diverse corporate client portfolio, and oversee statutory audit engagements in Bahrain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, plan, and finalize complex external audits in compliance with ISA and IFRS frameworks.
• Ensure audit reports meet Bahrain Commercial Companies Law requirements and are submitted via the MOIC Sijilat portal.
• Act as primary contact for client executives (CFOs/Controllers) while mentoring senior and junior audit staff.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and billing to maintain project profitability.

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years of full‑time external audit experience post‑graduation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (Accounting major) from an internationally recognized, MOIC‑vetted university.
• Active professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, ACA) is highly preferred.
• Clean criminal and professional conduct record.
• Commitment to a strict full‑time role with no external business ownership or secondary employment in Bahrain.
