Ground Operations Lead – Bahrain

About the role

Teleport is launching its first Middle East ground corridor from Bahrain, connecting air cargo to road transport across the GCC. As the Ground Operations Lead you will own the end‑to‑end freight flow from aircraft arrival to delivery, building the processes, relationships and team needed for reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the corridor’s performance – freight must clear customs, move predictably and arrive on schedule; intervene early when issues arise.
• Manage and hold trucking and transport partners to service standards, negotiating rates and addressing reliability concerns.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Bahrain Customs, ministries and authorities in destination markets to keep freight clearing smoothly.
• Build the local operations team, define processes and create a playbook as volume scales.
• Prioritise reliability and cost optimisation once the lanes are proven.

Required profile

• Proven experience running logistics or freight operations in the GCC, with a network of customs brokers, forwarders and trucking operators.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; Hindi or Urdu is a strong advantage.
• Bahraini national – the role requires direct interaction with ministries and aligns with Bahrainisation policies.
• Comfortable working on a warehouse floor and in ministry meetings, able to operate solo now and build a team later.
